Anyone from Ohio?
My mom called the cops to ask if stun guns were legal because i want one for my potato gun. The cop kind of paused for a while, and then he said that potato guns were illegal. I think the cop might have been making this up just to deter me from making the gun. Anyone from ohio know if this is true or not? I guess it doesnt matter though cause im gonna shoot my potato gun whether the cops say its legal or not.

Although I cannot confirm that it's legal for you, I can tell you that i have seen documents that said potato cannons were on the right side of the law, if only barrel. Even so, I wouldn't shoot it anywhere you could get caught, because they can still get you in trouble for dangerous activites. In a somewhat related story, I was visiting some old friends in South Jersey last weekend, and one of them had a friend who had built a trebuchet (If you're not familiar with the term, it's a siege machine similiar to a catapult, but it uses a sling to whip the projectile around, giving it more power/range. Definitely worth looking into) Anyway, I helped the range test it and we got into discussing my own means of putting things very, very far away. As a side note, they were hurling shot put balls, which weigh several pounds over 100 yards. Anway, back to the point of the story - at one point, an officer showed up and asked them what they were doing, why they were doing it, etc. He never really hassled us, (I think he was somewhat impressed.) but he definitely could have.
