Ok, this one works by a spring keeping the valve shut until there's enough pressure on it to open it. This makes it so the air doesn't enter the chamber until the piston is fully locked forward. This should work as long as those equalization holes are not too big. When the pressure behind the piston is released, the spring will push the valve back and then the piston will slide back and the air will exit through the barrel. www.geocities.com/sgort87/piston

wow that's not a bad idea, if you can get the front of the piston airtight enough, that should work pretty smooth

im going to make a cannon with a 3" diameter chamber, a 1 1/4" diameter barrel, and a 1 1/2" diameter pipe for the piston to slide in. it will not be the only piston i will use for it, once i have it built and working with a normal piston, i may experiment with this one.

Haha, yet again a typing error on my part has caused panic and chaos in the world of potato launchers. Well, it's fixed now. Let me know how that gun works for you. You should also experiment on an ammo feeder for D-Cell batteries on that gun. Set it up with a pressure regulator and some electronic sprinkler valves so you don't need to repressurize the chamber yourself. Ehehehe...
