Everyone has a dream gun, Lets hear all the details! What ideas would you like to implement on a spudgun? What type of materials would you like to use? What type of spudgun is it? What loading mechanism? What sort of "bling" would it have? What makes it stand out from the crowd? Is there more than one dream gun that you have in mind?
My dream gun: I would like to build an all-in-one spudgun. It would be a combustion, pneumatic, and a hybrid. Each type would be able to be used in a single chamber. At the same time, I would like to make the chamber volume variable... Possibly with a piston assembly that slides to reduce/increse volume. The gun would consist of a universal barrel attachment, and by that I mean not by using many fittings to reduce and such. A simple one step system, you could go from a 4" barrel to a 1/2" without much major setup. (I havent quite figured that out yet haha) Also important would be a storage box of sorts, possibly an aluminum padded case, to hold all the extra barrels and parts. Similar to latke's storage case for the L3. It would be ideal if it was a valved type hybrid, so to not have to worry about burst disks. Dont get me wrong, burst disks are awesome, just that this is a dream gun, and it would load a whole lot faster without the burst disks. The launcher could function as a pneumatic very easily. For it to be a normal combustion, the valve would somehow have to be bypassed. I though you may be able to do this by filling behind the pilot when using it as a hybrid/pneumatic, but fill from the chamber when using it as a combustion. Materials would be aluminum, stainless steel (oh yeah!), or titanium. I know this would be unrealistic but this is a dream gun, budgets cannot be accounted for! Lazer site, stungun ignition, chamber fan (would have to be robust). All fueling/firing would be controled on a little control box or touchscreen. It would have all the circuitry needed to fuel, fire, and exhaust itself with the touch of a button. OK, I am done for now ;D

What about a fully automatic quickfire SP9004.

one of my many dream guns would be a scaled down reproducton of the 16 navel guns on the battleship missouri. pete, repete and ditto. now it would be set up like boogies. with all 3 air combustion and hybrid. i love the idea of a turret with controls for aiming. and a full auto twin barrel pom pom style a.a. gun that shot golf balls. but as the wife says where would i keep it lol.

Fully automated, helium powered supersonic golfball cannon that uses a GPS targeting system. It would be made out of titanium. mmmmmm *wipes away drool* It would also have a matching smaller portable version with built in helium system. The smaller version would break down into pieces easily and be stored in a large briefcase. It would enclude a GPS targeting sytem like the first one, but due to its size it would most likely not be capable of supersonic speed

One of the many guns i have sat up in the middle of the night thinking about is, a fully automatic "Universal" gun. With a push of a button, a motorized barrel setup would spin(much like a gattling gun) rotating 6 different sized barrels, shooting golf balls, potatoes, pumpkins, tennis balls, basketballs, and billiard balls. It would have a cab to sit in with a 10 cd changer, and would be built on a frame of a car/truck and be fully mobile. Another one would be a 55 gallon drum attatched to one of those galvanized drains that go under drive ways for irrigation.

!!!!!!! i got a new idea, stick wit me it sounds reeaaly far fetched, ok, u have 1 big circular chamber, with about 6 barrels going around it pointing in all directions. then u have a big stick for a handle conected 2 the chamber, the igniter would have a realy long cord so that it could b in ur hand wile the ova end is up on the chamber, u hold the stick above ur head and fire, then u have spuds goin evry wer it sounds confusing, hers a sorta diagram 2 show u wot i meen

My Dream Gun is becoming a reality! ;D Im really serious about this too...I will START ordering parts and constructing within a couple of weeks... Well, Here goes...Its a hybrid, with a 3"x24" chamber, it will have interchangable barrels, it will also be fuel injected, air pressureized, ignited, and vented electronically..EVERYTHING will be controlled electronically except the regulation of air/fuel...I geuss the real good part is the stand/turret...it will be a mix between spudinators(from spudtech forums)Shopping cart turret, and Timmay(spudtech forums) Weapon Of Mashed Destruction stand...I will use a shopping cart with the sides covered in sheet metal (hopefully) and the top covered with plywood, then sheetmetal(deffinetly ) so you will not be able to see the potential mess of hoses, valves, wires, tanlks, and other accesories that will be inside of the shopping cart. ;D then I will use Timmays method for elevation by using a car jack, and also, his recoil system, using the sliding drawer runners and springs...I will use Boogie's method of injecting fuel with a 3-way solenoid valve and a Mr. Heater regulator, and I will also use a 2-way solenoid valve for pressurizing the chamber with air instead of a ball valve. there will be an onboard 5-gallon tank filled with air to compress the chamber. I will have a chamber fan for air/fuel mixing and venting, and ignition will be with a stungun, and sparkplug. there will be a big 12 volt battery to power everything inside of the shopping cart also. once again, you will NOT be able to see the mess of hoses, wires, batteries valves, and other accesories, so everything will look nice and neat ;D then I will have a project box containing a "master key switch" to turn everything onto the "ready" position, illuminated switches for the air, fuel, venting/mixing, and ignition. also, on top of the shopping cart where the gun will be mounted, I will display the regulators and gauges for the air and fuel nicely on one side, and on the other side of the gun, will be the project box displayed nicely also. Remember, saftey does count, so I will have a remote ignition method also. Whew! that was a lot of typing, hope I didnt miss anything... Now I just need to figure out where to start! Hehe Any questions? Haha

I'm building a Rocket Launcher.
5x18" combustion chamber, with a 4x48" launch barrel, ignited by 4 internal A10 model rocket engines, and the E9-6 of the rocket itself.

sorry dude, but that is absolutley foolish to build a rocket powered projectile the fact is that YOU WILL BE ARRESTED, if you ever shoot that thing, and if they don't catch you the first time, you will be arrested later, and you will most likely face harsh punishment for carrying a rocket shooting spudgun, no question about it, Allthough it would be cool to do, the consequences are not worth the risks. just build yourself a normal spudgun. Just think of what the police would say if you used that rocket gun, they would probibly deem you a terrorist and send you to jail, just scrap the plans for your rocket gun. ok? seriously

I want a full sized cannon in the back of my truck with fine pitched azimuth and elevation control. I would write some code that would take input from a video stream and have automatic target acquisition and tracking. The gun itself would be hydrogen and oxygen powered with tanks of compressed gas hooked to a solenoid so the computer can automatically fill the tank. Ammo would fall down through holes in the barrel, with the adjoining pieces airtight so that they don't drain power. Ignition would be via a homebrew high voltage sparking system, also triggered by the computer. Obviously the computer program would calculate the velocity of the round (which I have already done with some accuracy, verified by a homebuilt chronometer) and lead ahead of the target. The part I haven't given much thought to is the autoloader.... but it'll have to have one. I suspect that the computer would not need to be particularly powerful to accomplish the task, unless I wrote very advaced tracking algorithms. Right now my project is stuck in the hydrogen production stage.
